Hey man overall they look great!
If it wasn't for the internet and the ounces to grain conversion I'd be lost...but a true 1/32 is 13.68grains and change the 1/64th is 8. something the head in the picture was dead on 10. so a light 1/32 or heavy 1/64th...2 grains off...who but us will ever know??? I just slow my speed down a notch or speed up a notch two years ago was the first 1/64th in a crappie jig I had every seen... a guy in our fish camp at Weiss Ala...I looked at him and said what do you catch with that????he opened his cooler FULL of giant slabs..he said these....now I'll hush up!!!lol
something else to add and I know you'all know...hooks are HEAVY!!!! the light wire ones really come into play in the 1/64-1/80 no doubt!!!! I'm still in first grade around here...getting ready to grad---ate to 2nd grade LOL!!!
Thanks Skip for your tutulage these are the threads you learn from great thread not all jigheads are the same!!!
What size hooks are the jig heads poured on? To measure accuracy of a 1/64 oz., I believe you would need to test with #10 bronze Eagle Claws. There is a big difference in the gauge of the steel between a #10 and #8. If you weigh with any sickle hooks, they are definitely going to be heavier. I'll mess around tonight when I'm pouring.
We have been pouring on a eagle claw # 4 gold hk for fishing under a bobber and a # 6 if fishing below a small splitshot.
I will have to ask the guy that gave them to me to be sure...I have a good relationship with Shorty's and they are sending me several diffrent brands in several sizes 10, 8, 6, in vmc sickle and another brand I forgot...as soon as I get them will weight them seperate and after I pour and will report my findings too!
Those are nice Lift. Good work all the way around. Those are smokin hot under a float.
