Default Pouring Pony Heads-Need Advice on Components

I have acquired a Do-It Pony head mold in a bunch of stuff my Brother-in-Law brought me. I am fully aware of the Trademark on the Roadrunners and have no intentions of selling any at all. My questions are what size rings, swivels, and blades do I need to order to make just the 1/16 and 1/8 oz. sizes. I read somewhere that the Roadrunners used "brass" blades. If so, what is the advantage of this? Where is a good place to order tackle components from also?
I have just got into powdercoating my own jigheads and am anxious to make up some ponyheads. Do you worry about protecting the crane swivel when painting?

    Thanks,
    Dave

I use size #2 and #4 hooks sickle or aberdeen on mine whether the Pony or Horsehead. Split ring only because I bought a bag of a 1000. Blade size 00, 0 or even size 1 and you can use what ever style or color you want. For powder painting I sit the night before I powder paint and put tin foil on all the swivels, just make sure to take the tin foil off before you cure them.

If you're not making alot Jann's, Barlows, wherever you can get them the cheapest. Hagens if you want alot of stuff you can order also - if you want less than minimum quantity you can take less then add $1 for less than minimum. If you go this method fill out an order form and CALL the order in and verify each item, and cost then + the $1.

    Any more questions just ask.

I used to use foil, but get a small jar of water and after yoiu heat the jig dip the swivel in the water and then paint. You really just need to get about a 1/3 of it in the water. Sooooo much easier.

What does the water do to your paint? I have seen this talk, but scared to try it, LOL!

Hunter I tried the water trick you and others described and all it did for me was slow me down in my painting and a few clumps of powder from the water. If it works for you great but for me I'll stick with the tin foil.

Please recommend a split ring size and the colorado blade and willow leaf blade sizes for 1/16 and 1/8 oz. oz. ponyheads.

    Thanks
