Default (personel goal almost there) 1/32 heads pic's

This will take a little explaining so please forgive me.....this time last year I was on my first trip with a friend who is a professional crappie guide on my home lake Allatoona in Acworth Ga. 20 min. from my home...our trip was not productive...heavey rains had jumped the lake levels up 3 feet in one day and trash was all over the surface....but after finishing up loading the boat on the trailer...I begain to ponder the things that happened...I thought back to where..this all started...on Lake Weiss watching all the people in the RV park we camped at, I at that time was a pure bass fisherman...and did not fully understand the jug fisherman-and women...and then the crappie fisherman...they kept the campers there all year but only fished spring and summer for crappie...the cleaning tables always busy and the bowels of cleaned fish and the smell of fish frying???? I didn't get it? Then the way crappie fisherman share...info and even...gulp the areas they were catching fish the head weights the colors...you all know this story don't you? Ok now today that guide has a trip today and one tomorrow...we here in Ga are not limited to the rods so he fishes 12 rods...6 of which will have my hand tied jigs on! I got photo'd texted to me yesterday even with 15 mph winds he's on the fish and would have killed them if the winds had not been so high, today if they get their limits with my jigs, will finish the dream I had, to help this guide build a jig, for soft plastic's and hand tie some flies for the 2012 spring....well I've done that...I'm sharing this because you guys let me force myself in here to this site which has been the single greatest help to inspire me to tie jigs... and I love it thats all I think about...I sick! Thanks to all you pro's If I named you all I'd leave someone out...you all have been more than gracious and kind for that I thank you! thanks RobbieName: IMG-20120307-00045.jpg

Once crappie fishing gets in your blood it never leaves and now the tying bug has jumped on you also. Nothing like setting at your tying bench and watching a jig come together from a rainbow of colors and a box of different materials to choose from and having the fish take it.
Your jigs look good and thanks for sharing your story with use.

Crappie fishing is like Stump said, once infected with the bug, it got it's hooks in. Tying is worse though as there is no end or limit to what you can do and how long you can do this great hobby, even if it is a big addiction!

    Glad your living your dream!

Great looking jigs. I'm sure your friend will have much success with them.

I haven't even celebrated my one year anniversary of crappie fishing, and already I'm hooked. The tying-jigs-thing is really crazy since I probably lost 5 jigs all of last year. At that rate I've tied enough to last me for about 6 years...and I still have 40 painted-but-untied jigs left!

I couldn't have done it without the help of all the great folks on this site.

Once you catch the crappie fishing bug there is no cure.
I wouldn't take it if there was.

Great post. Glad you found something to put a smile on your face even if it isn't you catching the fish. We're all done for. Ruint.
