Not long usually but for one I don't like that type box - you fill it up and the hackle, kip, bucktail whatever is gonna get bent or set into a curl and I personnally don't like that.

Oh, it won't take you very long at all once you get after it. And that is a good question: what do guys do to keep nicely tied jigs from becoming a messy glob?

I have started ordering the 2"x2" poly bag slips, and I put a jig in there all nice and straight, fold the top over and staple it shut. the jigs will stay nice and protected for a long time. I have been getting the poly slips at hagens, and also bought some 1 1/2" x 3" slips for a longer jig. this is working real good, especially for marabou or other delicate materials. I put the jig in there and take a qtip and stick it into the bag and straighten the jig up before closing the slip.

It shouldn't take too long. By the way, I haven't posted much the lst 6 months but your jigs are improving nicely! Keep up the good work!

I really like using waterproof fly boxes for my steelhead jigs since I travel light and do a lot of walking. As for my crappie jigs either fly boxes or (as already mentioned) in small reclosable bags.
