I am a firm believer that less is better when it comes to tails and bodies. I really like those I see myself tying some of those in the future.

I guess the one jig I tie that sure proves that less can be very good is their jig and when wet it's looks more like a small stick than a jig, but it works. I tie all kinds of jigs, big fluffy tails, long and short tails, feathers and hair and catch fish on them all. One day one works better than the other and the next day maybe the opposite is the trick that wins. So I like all kinds and styles of jigs and tie most all of them. when tying for someone else I tie what they want. Right now I am tying some buck tail jigs what are more to the sparse side, but who knows what is next. I just keep an open mind and find that is the best approach!

I am sure your jig pictured here will catch crappie!

This Popeye jig is the one that when wet looks like a stick, but crappie love it!

LOL, That jig your looking at that I tied was done probably 3 to 4 years back and is a 1/32. I got tired of tying one afternoon about 4 PM and went down to my bank with a long pole and this jig tied on. In about an hour I caught 10 really nice crappie with this little jig all in about a 5' area. I thought it was funny because once wet I just didn't think it would be so good because it looked like i had a little stick tied on my line. With no chenille and just the hackle when wet it's so thin you wouldn't think they would like it so much. I know that I was really surprised.
