    Here is one of my favorite duck feather jigs. Tied some in 2003 and been HOOKED ever since!

    Frank there are a good many ducks that have the barred flank feathers, I think I have Mallard, Teal, Widgeon, Wood Duck (which are golden color) and pintail. Not sure but maybe there are even more that have this type feather. Not positive what he used, but they all are nice.

    Thanks! They are Gadwall flank feathers. All the male ducks have some good looking feathers. I also use some of the brown feathers between the wings on the back of Gadwalls for crawfish and brown cricket imitations. When the jig gets wet that flashbou REALLY stands out!
