Default looking to buy a new melting pot

I let my dad use my melting equipment ( lee hot pot 2) and while he had it his shop caught fire and burnt half of the shop down and my pot was damaged in the process it had chemicals and who knows what else in it when mom and dad was cleaning up the mess so I'm thinking about just replacing it due to the fact of not knowing what was actually spilled in the pot. but I'm look to buy a drop bottom pot anyone know where I can get a good deal on one? and what is the temperature range on the drop bottom furnaces thanks

Get the Lee Production Pot IV, 10 lb bottom pour. You don't have to buy direct from Lee - just search around to find the best price. They WILL back up their product. I had two of the old style IV's one I had for 27 yrs. the other 24 yrs. I just sent them back under the 1/2 price rehab program and instead of fixing them up = they determined it was cheaper to send me 2 brand new model IV's. cost me 1/2 the cost of a brand new one x 2. and they paid the shipping.

You might get a drip now and then, but I've cleaned lead in them and poured LOTS of jigs over the years I've had them. Can't go wrong IMO.

I've poured up to 1 ounce sinkers using it, how big you looking to pour??? and the dial on top goes from 1-9 each number is a 100 degrees, so up to 900 degrees. I keep it around 625 and no problems.

I believe the spout is the same on all of them but you could check that with LEE.

I pour up to a 6 oz bank weight for cat-fishing for a buddy and he also uses them for hybrid fishing as well that's the biggest thing I pour

I have a 10 lb Lee Production pot and I pour up to 3 oz. egg sinkers. They work but you get a lot of pour lines in the bigger egg sinkers. We used to pour bank sinkers up to 16 oz. but we melted our lead in an old pan on a fish cooker and used a large ladle that would make the whole pour at once. Made nice looking bank sinkers.

lol ya by the time I use my wife's discount and my reward points and my $10.00 gift certificate that 72.00 production pot IV will cost me about 40.00 or so I usually save my point up and get something that I want once a year or so 1/2 price lol and since I live less than 5 miles from BPS they just about know me by name there I've spent hours and hours just walking around looking at all the cool stuff there and never seems to get boring

I have poured 4 and 5 oz sinkers in an old iron mold that my Dad left me with good results. Leather gauntlets helped with the no handles on the mold.
