i want 2 learn 2 tye them! any help would be nice thanks guys. i have some corks like the 1s they put in wine but alot smaller for the heaad on them

Look on line for the foam heads and hooks for the heads. The paint for the foam must be compatible so as not to melt it. I'm sure there are more than I know about but what I found was at BPS and no good prices accompanied these supplies. They're fun,I believe Big Mack did some a while back, you might ask him about this.

I was going to use some corks like you have, but decided against that and bought some foam popper bodies and I still plan on getting some balsa dowels which I think will be the best of all. I need to also get some type of tools for cutting them into shape so they look good. I could do them by hand, but not without proper tools as I am not sure I am that talented with wood, but I have not really tried either. The foam popper bodies are not all that high cost and they come is several sizes from blue gill size to bass size. You do need to epoxy the hook in though which means you need a turning wheel for that.

Don't over-complicate things unless you have lots of spare time on your hands...

You can get foam sheets in different thickness from the craft store and cut them to shape with scissors or a razor. Even glue together sheets for multi-color. Lash them to an aberdeen hook (for panfish) then a drop or 2 of super glue and you are good. Targeting bass, you might want to upgrade the hook.

You can get the specific kink shank hooks and foam bodies from fly shops - just expect to spend about 3X the cash.

Skip, look into Dremel tools options that the RC crowd uses for their components, not too expensive and made for balsa wood and such.

Skeet I have 2 Dremels, one older one and one I got just a year or so back that is variable speed. I would think that new one will do most things. I will look at it, thanks!

I really want some balsa dowels, but just have not bought them yet.

Like the other guys have mentioned, I would suggest foam over cork. One very good foam popper is the Gartside Gurgler:

Never did try to tie any popper baits but I found this different use for the popper head...check it out!
