you don't want to use cement with a chenille body, it'll soak into your chenille. just whip finish it twice, with about 5 wraps on each whip finish.
It may not need sealed, but most every jig I tie gets it. The only time I don't, is if I tie one in the morning and take it to the lake with me. Some days the Sally Hansen’s odor doesn't seem to matter, but that's the only time I don’t seal them. I have had thread neck jigs that were not sealed, unravel. If a crappie can strip the red coating off a hook, it can surely untie a simple hitch knot...lol.

If it is waterbased you can revive it with water.I with NP everything we tie gets a drop,Me personaly I prefer the waterbase as it leaves no odor to worry about.
thanks fishhunter, just the answer i needed...im confident in my finish but what little time i have to tie em i like the added security of having that single drop off a needle to the knot, never messes up my chenile and surely doesnt stop the specks from gobbling em up

I think you can get a cement thinner as well.
There is a bottle with a needle like tip used for applying a spot where it's needed. Saves a lot of headaches, and every jig I tie gets a spot to lock it in. I have a jig in my box that has over 80 fish on it and though I tied it quick with scraps on the bench, and the chenille isn't as tightly wrapped as when it started, it's still tied tight and ready for business.
