Slab Stik'r Jigs
I bought enough Christmas tinsel for life for a buck at the dollar tree. Looks like what's in the pic. One card of gold, one silver.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
Plain tinsel was a standard for me in days past. I use to buy it a dozen spools at a time from Danville. Now I use the holographic tinsel. Bet if the truth be known that they are using Christmas tree tinsel.
Best I ever used was from Danville and was silver plated and embossed. Still have 6 spool of it and use it sparingly. Now I think most is a Mylar tinsel a plastic variant and not metal like we used in the OLD DAYS. You might try the trout fly tying material sellers to see if anyone sells Sunrise Brand tinsel which is a metal. BTW I do have a box that is full of jigs tied in the Slater style.

Looks like flash-a-bou, get it at any fly tie shop.
Get the magnum flashabou it is 1/32 wide, twice as long as regular and works great, they offer it in all colors.
