    Default Jig Collector

I've been involved in Crappie.com jig swaps for a long time. I have kept every jig that I've received throughout the years. My wife asks me regularly "why don't you use them"? I tell here they are collector items. People collect all kind of things, such as BB cards to Avon bottles. I have a collection of jigs from some of the best tiers there is. I've wanted a Shipahoy jig in my collection for some time. Several times I have invited him to join the swaps, but he has always been busy or just not interested. I finally made him an offer he couldn't (didn't) refuse...lol. He wouldn't do an official swap, but agreed to a personal swap, so I could scratch him off by "Most Wanted Jig" list. I just finished his this morning to be sent out Monday. I'm excited to get his set and will post some pictures for you guys later.
    Thanks Ship

I've been wondering what to do with all the jigs. They are so nice that I hate to use them. I have a couple of duplicates due to dropouts during a swap, and caught several different fish on one of Shoemoo's the other day. I've thought about making some kind of display to hang like a picture. What do you do with your's?

I was lucky enough to have a guy that is really well know in the fly tying end of it and he is the one that does the rope dub stuff. Well over time he has sent me a lot of jigs and flies and I am going to put them all under glass to keep.

Not a bad idea you had and bet you have a nice collection by now.

Have saved all of mine and darn glad I did. There are several of the Good old tiers that have moved on or passed on. Have to agree NP I don't have one of Ship's jigs ether. I have one of most of my favorite tiers. Skip was nice enough to give me a half dozen. You and I have exchanged in a private swap. I even got one of Crappiekiller3 before he went to the great lake in the sky to scout us a new place to fish. Several other I will get. Even got one in a swap from Robert at Crazy Angler. Think I will get some frames and go to work will look good on my fishing wall.

HALF DOZEN!!! He only sent me 2...lol.
Good luck getting one of Ship's jigs. It was like pulling teeth and now I see he has the "plastic fever" real bad. I bugged him so much he finally broke down and is sending me some. Then he told me not to ask any more...lol.
So many have tied in a swap or two, and then move on for whatever reason. If you do start collecting, be sure to keep the swaps separated and label with which site/number. Most guys are sending them in a zip baggie, but long ago they were just toe-tagged with a simple piece of paper that fell off easily. After a few years it becomes virtually impossible to separate them because the old posts disappear into the past.
