I was hoping you would respond. You are looking at Nor Vise and fish salt water. The Nor Vise makes the best tube fly attachment on the market. My opinion. If you get to tying them you are liable to get hooked big time. I just sold my HMH tube vise and now I wish I had kept it. Great looking flies and now there is a way you can lose the hook and keep the fly. I still may do some small ones for bluegill to see how they work.

I do not have used vises, sold them all on E-Bay. E-Bay is a good place to look for used vises. I did not get the PM.

Can you get small tubes for bluegill and crappie to tie on? Never paid much attention to them as I thought it was a salt water thing.

That's the problem. All of the books are written for salt water and it was first used for the larger trout species and of course popular salt water. I tied a bunch and sent them to my nephew because he travels to a bunch of foreign countries to fly fish and is getting into fly fishing salt water. Yes you can get them small enough for gills. The tubes are from Q Tips. You can buy Q Tips at Wal Mart, Walgreens as well as other drug stores. Do not get the white ones as all I have seen are paper. The plastic ones are what you want and they come in pink, blue and green. The plastic ones are hollow so you can get the mandrel through the center. They are super cheap. I can tie some up if anyone is interested and post pics. I kept a rinky dink mandrel and I think it will work in the vise I have. This is one area where you really do need a true rotary vise.

Do not and I mean DO NOT buy a cheap adapter as you will hate it from the first time you use it until it hits the trash can. The starting point is HMH tube fly adapter. If you cannot afford a lot get the started but if you can swing it get the premium,
