I am the one who named it that I think as I just started calling it that. It came from the original marabou roadrunner color I have used since the mid 1970's and it's FL Red (Flake Red)/Kelly Green/FL Yellow tail.

I saw your recent post sometime ago Skip and the colors sounded interesting along with the name.Perfect name for the colors used. The FL red would surely be a better choice then the Blaze orange.

The head is very close to blaze orange. IMO, it's not the exact colors, but the contrast between them that makes it so effective.
Beautiful work, Len. Just hold on to the pole!

Over the years I have caught a lot of crappie with that color. The Blaze Orange is or should be close enough. Heck lots of time when painting I make sure to keep the Orange away from my FL. Red so I don't have to sort them later.
