Default Mold. Why not use wood?

Same as title. It won't burn and easy to work with.

The nice thing about regular is they should be consistent from day one to year 10. Most of us who pour start off with a couple of molds, then we add a couple, then a few more. Next thing you know you're almost there with just a few more you need to complete the set.

The best thing about good molds is the consistency of the pour. I do not like to depend on being able to find it in a sporting goods store at a inflated price for an inferior product. I would worry about safety issues using wood as well. Hot lead will make a believer out of you. The few dollars you save could wind up costing you a lot.

I'm sure there are some guys on this site who know much more about this than I and can advise how best to handle it if you're determined to use wood. Good luck and be careful!

I'm sorry but that's just not true. I've seen the wood handles start smoking while pouring sinkers. I'm not sure if your trying to save money or what. If your looking for one mold that does all your needs look into RTV silicon- US composites should help you get started. That's what the commercial guys use in their spincasters. The guys at Lurecraft can help also, plus there's a couple here on the board if they got time. I know one of them pours weekends only, In 2 days he pours 18-20K. Then the other half of the week he's collecting lead for the weekend, and the rest distributing product. He's a busy man, I don't think he fishes much anymore.
