Powder Paint

I use a tourch hooked up to a 20 lb cylinder. Sure works good for me and can get a pencil point flame that heats the lead pretty quick. I powder paint bunch every year.

I have not been in many craft stores other than the big one in Lufkin (hobby lobby I think), but never seen a burner in walmart, craft store or any place like that. Not saying you will not find one, but all of the burners I have came off the internet or Barlow's. When I said hardware store I was speaking of the alcohol not the burner.

Found something like Sterno at Academy. It has a screw on top and a wick. Works pretty good but...I passed one through the flame a little too long and the lead fell right off the hook! I started just passing the jig through it about 4 or 5 times about medium fast and it works better. Will still look for the burner or order one in the near future.

I followed Skips advice and use the alcahol burner, works great for me. The only place I could find it was at Barlows

Gator I hold it in the flame and count to three on each side... I guess the fuel has allot to do with the heat. Trial and error... You will soon be telling others how to do it.

I use a heat gun and it has worked well for me so far!

I use a candle and will until I find an alcohol burner or 3. Have tried a heat gun and hated it because it made the entire room so hot and was way too loud with the kids around and dangerous if they don't pay attention. I have done 350+ jigs a day with a candle so I have no reason to switch now.

Jann's Netcraft carries alcohol burners. You can get denatured alcohol at any hardware store or paint supply.

I've used a candle for 4-5 years now with no problems. Just hold it above the flame and no soot.
