summer paterns here are a bit different from last year but basicly the same brush in or around 15 to 18 feet and slow presentations seem to work the best but the fish this year seem to stray away from the chartruse colors and tend to be more into the ginger with a pecock blue tail and a candy teal head but me and my son still getin into the 40 fish a trip range in the erly to mid mornings trying to leave the water before it gets to hot other colors that seem to do good are powder blue body with kingfisher blue tail and a lime green head and lime green head with a light olive body with kingfisher blue tail it seems as the fish are hung up on blue this year has been this way around here in east texas since the spring last year was flo yellow or aka chartruse but this year its not getin hit like past years just seems to be a color thats pasing out for the fish just seem to not want it like they have in the past but my old faithfull jig has held up great the minnow chenille with a chrome head with a shad grey tail still puts a whop[in on the fish erly in the day and late in the afternoon just thought id give you guys some food for thought in this summer heat
thanks for listening and i hope my input and colors has gave you all something to go on and good luck fishing

I live in southern half of Louisiana....the only "clear water" around here comes out of a faucet.

I go to a blue tail when I can see at least 3' down in this lake which seeing that deep or more hear is clear. I usually uses a Chartreuse or even Hot Orange early when it's stained normally. However this year I am not sure it was ever stained like usual.
It is the exact opposite in my neck of the woods. The 1 spring fed lake I fish for perch and the occasional crappie is CLEAR! I mean you can see bottom in 12 FOW. We go to blue, black/white, gray/white, blue/white, and black/gray tails. Sometimes a switch to some shade of green as well.
