Find your paint at Bass Pro Shops, Janns Netcraft , or Cabelas in the flying section. Use different size drill bit ends to make perfect eyes.
Most eyes are yellow / black or red / black or just plain black eye. Depends on the jig head color.

lacquer paint works well and is fast drying. on dark colored heads use white for background, black for pupil. on light colored heads use chartreuse or orange or yellow for background. I use a very small nail stuck in a match stick for background and a stick pin stuck in match stick for pupil. never used the drill bits, but alot on here do and I'm sure it does good.

Be careful about what color head you put Sally Henson's over because like Fl Yellow and Chart will change to a color that is not as good. I use it over most head color, but for these two I use Clear Vinyl to the head color keep good.
I got the drill bit tip from fly tyers tips a long time ago and brought it here and I still use that. You need one half the size of the first color to put on the pupil or final color. You need drill bits that are completely flat on the non business end of the drill bit. You can get a cheap set as you will not be using them for drilling. Some are not flat.

I tried Acryllic paint from walmart and it works fine. Just make sure you let it dry for at least 30 minutes and once dried apply just a little hard as nails over it, then go back 10 minutes later and put a good coat of hard as nails over it.
The outdoor Acrylic Paint (from Wallmart too) is what I use most except on Roadrunners and since they just have black eyes I use vinyl on them.
we use nothing but vinyl paint for paining eyes we do not use drill bits I use a small Christmas light the type that are on your Christmas tree that twinkle we simply bus the wires off and use the and we have found nothing that will compare to vinyl paint for making eyes we use this over powder paint and we usually use clearcoat vinyl for a perfect finished.

I have found that Rustoleum enamel Paint works best for me. I use a Q Tip with round end to apply the eye. One small can last long time .....until the lid will no longer fit. I bake for bout 8 minutes and they are ready to fishing.

Every day you do not fish will be one day less you have to fish
Yellowjacket Each one of us has our own technique and each of us swears ours is the best. So I would suggest that you experiment and find one that works for you. You could start with some small bottles of testors paint and then move into the smaller cans of paint once you have your method of applying it. You have been presented with many good ways so work threw a couple and see what works for you. Once you do that then you can start to experiment with different colors to paint the eyes. Don't just limit yourself to black and white. There is red on yellow, red on blue, blue on white, some colors just look better on different colored heads. Find one that is pleasing to your eye and it will catch the fishes eye also.
My best advice is to have fun doing it. For most of us this is a hobby a way to sooth our souls in our leisure moments.
Have fun
