    Default Hand Tied Weedguard?????

I had a thought today that I would like to throw out there for others to mull over a bit.

Just wondering if anybody has tried to tie mono weedguards on their jigheads sort of like they use in bass bugs

Weed Guard - Fly Tying Workshop

there is a link to an example

Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated

Maybe soon as I am going to try something new and see how it does. I think it's going to work well actually, but not ready yet and I will be able to finish the jig before I put it on.

tie mono from head make sure it stays on top of shank. Wrap all the way to mid bend on hook, pull aound to loop around point and tie in at head.

    Rev,

That would be awesome if you had some pics. I like the idea and it would be pretty inexpensive the only downside would be that it cant be used on plastics, but you cant have everything right.

this mono is way heavy...you could probably use 8 or 10 pound.
