Well as you guys know I have been talking about this for a long time now since I got that DVD, but I never had the time to dedicate my self to learning it like I need to. I also have never done much with making segmented bodies. So here is what I think is my 7th or less (in almost a year now, LOL!) thing to tie using rope dub tying and this is a 1/16th Oz. jig head with a #6 Sickle hook. I still need work at getting the right amount of material when I start, but that will come.
This was practice so I didn't plan it other than just pick colors I like and am pretty happy with how it turned out.

Looks good to me skip. As you know I got the DVD also, but haven't had time to try it. Is that ice dub? Very tight nice segmented body.
Looks Good Skip Keep it up! I just wish i could afford a learn how to dvd and tying materials lol
Don't feel too bad, I got my DVD last July and really only have tied 7 things at all because of lack of time, but I have decided to force my self to put a little time in, maybe even go to 30 minutes a day or something like that because I need to and want to get a lot better at this.
I have Ice Dub too, but this one was SLF Prism Dubbing.
Thanks,

Nice looking tye skip, how long did one jig take to make and how much patients did it take also. Very nice jig.
I didn't really time it, but not so long considering I have not done much of this kind of tying. It's getting use to the manipulation of the materials that take a bit of time, but once I had the rope done, it just took a few seconds to wraps it and finish. I think this one (just guessing) probably 3 minutes, but once familiar with it I think I could do this in under a minute including the tail as long as I had the feathers or what ever I used for the tail ready.

Looks good Skip. Good to see you found a little time to tye some flies for yourself. I been playing around with tying a few flies and it is a learning experience working with the small hooks. LOL I'm calling the #14 small and I still don't see how I can tie on a #20 or smaller Doh. Nice fly and look forward to seeing more of em.
