    Default Candy Lime Translucent

I hate looking at Columbia Coating website because they have some many cool toys. But I always keep coming back to their Candy Lime Translucent. Does anybody have any of that color and would share a few jig head pic that they used it on?

I have some, but will need to see if I have any pics because some I don't remember what I put on them. One thing you need to know about all the candy colors is if you don't put them over plated heads then you will not get the best colors. Also some you need a gold plated head and some a silver will do. Big difference between that and a just unpainted or non plated head.

So if you want the best out of them be ready to get some plated heads.

I think that I have every candy color they make. Most I use over a plated head, but a couple it doesn't make as much difference.

Skip, on the columbia site, it does state "All Translucent shimmers require a silver or chrome base coat." It doesn't say that for the regular translucent. I will call them and see what advice they can offer.
    Thanks for your help

Before I ordered some translucent colors a while back from Columbia, I sent an email asking about a base coat and explained the application (jigs). Tim got back to me and said that I could use a base if I wanted, but if the jig was freshly poured that I really didn't need one. I wound up getting a little bit of chrome and a bit of silver just to be safe. Haven't had an opportunity to try any of it yet. ...And I did get the straight translucents, not the shimmers.

I use the candy apple red transparent a lot for spinners and jig heads. On plain lead, even bright ones it turned out dingy and dark. Still looked okay but not what I wanted. On lead free heads and nickel spinner blades it looks just like candy and is an awesome color on bright days around noon.

The candy purple was a lot more forgiving and worked well on just about anything.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.
