Default Thinkin bout pouring some sickle hook jigs

my question is will my regular round head and minnow head do-it molds work for these hooks. the molds say to use 1/0 and 2/0 but would like to try some sickle if they will work

They work great in my Do-It molds. In fact that is about all I cast any more is Sickle hooks.

Right, probably won't if you stay with the standard size the mold calls for. But, I like to go with 1 size larger and did have to modify mine to get it right with the Sickles, the regular round Mustads would work fine 1 size larger. All I have made in a while are the Sickles and they work great.

I know they've got the quality control problems corrected some but in the old batch's the length of the wire from the l bend to the eye of the hook somtimes was a bit too long. Other than that they should pour fine.

All I use are sickle's and like em fine. Some of my molds will accept the shank diameter but the point of the hook lays different and I have to remove a tiny bit of the mold to get the diff sizes to go. IMHO, the better hookup of the sickle is worth any and all changes that need to be made.
