Default jigtosser, info on roto vice

Without starting a war, could you provide us with more info on the roto vice. I have been tying with a terra vice for 15 years and think it might be time to move up. I know it will do chenille quickly by rotating, but can you lock it so it does not turn? What do you do to slick up this vice and any other good points you can provide.:D Thank you very much for your time.

When asking about a product you are thinking about buying form someone on Crappie.com you should just send a PM to that person and then no one can argue the pros and cons which is what I think you may want.

Also when he replies he should just tell you to PM him as that is how all of us that sell things here do that without crossing over the advertising rules here on crappie.com.

So if it's not too much trouble maybe you can just send him a PM?

    Thank you,

I am not sure if I want this type of vice or not. I am thinking about a new vice and saw where someone had stated how well he liked it and just wanted more info, thought others might also. I have read all of the commenets you have made about Peak vices and others and would just like more info to compare to. Sorry if it sounded like I was ready to buy and not asking or wanting any pro or cons, just wanted specs and how it works.

No problem, but just think most of the time it's better to PM. I know for probably 3 or 4 years if anyone ask me about something I sell I just shoot them a PM and that was we can talk freely and not make something other than what it is. Beside there is a lot more than Peak Vises out there so not a problem here as it's not something I sell for a living and just do it to help where I can. The Ohio site has a great vise comparison that covers from low end to way high end.

I looked on U-Tube to see if I could not find the Roto Vise , but was not successful about finding it. Maybe he has a link.

I can't tell you anything about it or I would.

PS BTW I have never said much about any of the vises I like other than they are good. DO description, nothing. Next and most important is I think may you think I am or want to sell you a Peak Vise, well I really could care less and don't sell enough of them to make any difference in my life. I don't care if I ever sell another one, really I don't. My tying and other things I do associated with fishing is for fun and hobby and none is for my living and don't use it for that. It what I do in my time when I am not fishing or what ever else. I tie because I like it and want to and that is all! There is never money making in my thoughts about any of this stuff. I watch the mineral rights I have and that is my income along with my disability money. My wife also works as a court clerk here in these wonderful woods of East Texas. SO stop worrying if I want to sell you a vise, because I don't care about that at all.

Skip.....your a piece of work. If it was a vise you were selling your posts would overpower everone else. I guess it's time for you to ban me. You've gotten rid of all the great tyers that used to come to this board. You need to lighten up. And yes....I have tyed 40 years to your 10. Does that make me better???? I don't own $200 capes and don't even tye flies. I've got jigs I tyed in 1970 that still catch fish....DO YOU???

I think this is a very appropriate place to discuss different fly tying vices... This is a fly tying forum...other fly tying sites discuss vices all the time... We all talk about all kinds of materials and who to buy them from.. It's in the learning curve.. I learned everything I know about tying from right here.. From where to get materials to what vice to use...the guy wants info on the vice and posting it on this forum may help someone choose a vice.... It's hard to find info on this vice and the more we put the better informed everyone will be....

Drfish sorry for hijacking your thread... Jiggtosser makes several improvements to the vice... He changes the screws and adds washers where needed... The rotation feature of the vice does lock and can be placed in just about any position your comfortable tying in. The rotary function is in line but does not spin fast like the nor-vice so making dubbing brushes are not as easy but doable..the hook clamp mechanism is fast.. The jaws hold hooks well and I love the hook release...I personally am enjoying tying on it. I hope this gives you the information you were looking for and if us guys and gals on CDC can help you in any way just post something and all your questions will be answered by someone... The information on this site you can't find anywhere else.

The more information available on a subject in this forum for the members is what it is all about ... Personal Sales interest can cloud the issue (not only here but all over the forum) ... If I am wrong PLEASE let me know ... So Much GOOD information is spread and that is what it is all about.

    My 2 cents worth

Absolutely right and that is why if you or someone wants info from a member that sells that item then you should PM them. If it's just talking about the pros and cons on a vise or anything else among members that doesn't include someone asking for prices or pushing a product is what is right. For a guy selling a product here on CDC should use the classified board to tell all they want about what ever it is including their price. That is why the swap meet board is there.
I do realize I step in early and some think or take that wrong, but it's just to head off threads that will lead to post that become advertising. It's really that simple.
