Grey squirrel tail! I can tie with it natural, dye it. and do not have to adorn it with anything but a jig head and thresd to hold it in place to catch fish.
Rabbit! Great action and very versatile in what you can do with it.
If your wanting to tie with hair It's a great length for tying jigs..you can usually use the natural ends and not have to trim it. It is also a thin hair unlike buck tail . I know when I use buck tail on crappie jigs I usually have to trim and the necks are really bulky. Also you can tie really small jigs with it. I love it. The action is not great but it catches allot of fish... Most popular around my parts is 1/32 black and chart red thread neck.
