Powder Paint Question

Did the powder paint, I've got pockmarks where there is no paint. This is a bad picture, to much glare, but you can see the dot to the left. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

Can't really make it out, but try this. 3 things. A little more heat (only if it's not melting once you pull it out), fluff the paint more (and every few jigheads...screw the top on and shake or stir with a bodkin or something), and dip then swish a whole revolution to get coverage 360 degrees.

Thanks, tried again today, kept the jig on the heat a little longer. It looks like that did the trick, no pockmarks on any of them. I went easy on the heat because the first one I tried I melted the jig.

Do a count in your head or out loud.

Was it just not getting shiny and looked kinda grainy? As long as some melts and sticks you can just hold it back over the heat for a second while it's still hot and it'll gloss right up.

That's what I do. I found if I overheat it there is too much paint on the head and when it cures I get a nose like drip on the head. A little less time on the heat and the amount of paint was right, and I had to return it to the heat to glaze it before curing. No problems since.

Been there done that ... change over from painting 1/4 oz and then start on 1/32 oz ... you have to watch it.

When I first started it was grainy and I would put it on the heat to finish the job, after a while thought I had it figured out. I'm doing 1/32 now, Using a alcohol burner [Skips suggestion, I like it] and counting to 8, seems to work good so far. I'll have to make adjustments when I change sizes, but it looks like I have a starting point. Thanks for the help guys , really appreciate it.
