    Default Baking red hooks?

I baked a few jigs that i powder painted and they had red hooks, the red on the hooks discolored. Can red hooks be baked at all? At a lower temp maybe?

Ive never seen the red discolor when I bakes them.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

It depends on the Brand of hooks. Some brands will turn a dark dingy red when heated and others will stay bright shiny red.

I don't use red hooks and don't like them because very one I have used the red come off after just a few fish and your left with a gold hook. Also since red is one of the first colors to not be visible in water I don't especially have much faith in them. It is a personal thing though.

My Matzuo hooks did not bleed using Pro-Tec Powder at 20 to 25 minutes at 400 degrees. I do air cure for 48 hours before I bake though because of the way I do eyes.
