The Wooly Grunge
I said I would do a western brown trout fly on a jig. I call it the wooly grunge. This is not my pattern, it was taught to me in the 50's. It is the best brown trout pattern I have ever used. It has a black chenille back and burnt orange chenille belly and then palmer wrapped hackle. In those days we did not know how to bullet proof a hackle and you went through a lot of flies. Now we know how to bullet proof the hackle and the flies will last a long long time before the hackle is worn out. I am going to try it on crappie. The head is done rough on purpose and it is done by over heating the Powder Paint until it turns that way.
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear to be bright until you hear them speak
