I'd try Janns Netcraft or Barlows. Your mold looks older - does it tell you what size wire diameter to use?

Assuming this for a crappie sized spinner bait - ie 1/8oz, I'd guess about .029, if its for a larger weight, ie 1/4oz, I'd guess .035 or possibly .041 (inchs).

My guess would be you're going to have to bend the wire yourself to make the forms - no idea if the pre-bent ones would work/fit.

    Good luck

the mold makes 1/4 oz 3/8 oz 1/2oz and 5/8oz so i think it would be more for bass and no it dont give a wire dia but for a free mold im not going to complain

i make 1/16oz and 1/8oz spinner baits...you need your pre-bent wire...hook # 455....barrel swivels, split rings and blades....you dont need no tools but split ring pliars (BPS $6.00) and some needle nose

If you use that mold, wear some gloves. Those handles WILL burn you! Also be careful when pouring. I have used a couple of those molds marked AMENT and they did not fit together real good. The lead might run out the bottom.

    Crappie josh,

With the size's that are listed on the mold I'm pretty sure you're gonna have to go at least with a .035 wire.

To get a really good answer I'd say to post the pictures over at Tackleunderground Home in the Lure making wire section. Some of the guys over there have alot of older molds and could give you really accurate sizes of wire to use.

I say this only because it will end up costing you less money if you know exactly what size wire you need and if you can get it pre-formed already it WILL SAVE YOU. Crappie killer is pretty dead on with the hook # 455....barrel swivels, split rings and blades.

Thumbs up Just a little trivia

That is a good ol Paul Ament Mold back in its day is was the step before you had one of his Precision Molds made .... I could not tell the number on it but I am all most sure I have one of them ... They were made to use a safety pin for your wire harness .. which is what was used for some time .. hince the name "Saftey Pin Spinner Bait" Generly a Mustad 3407 was used .. you will get some flashing with the lighter wire hooks and wire ... according to my "Newer" Ament catalog "1980" which was at least 20 years after this mold was originaly made .. it should be a number B4 (Four cavity 5/8, 1/2, 3/8 and 1/4 oz )Sold for 6.00 in "80" (bought mine before then and was like 4.50) ... This was in his Cast Aluminum models ... the Percision molds were made by pressing a steel model into polished Aluminum Stock. ... the road runner molds (called Spin jig mold) were 5.00 ( I know the one I bought back then was about 3.50) the #321 three cavity 3/4, 1/2 and 1/4oz, the #486 was 3 cavity 1/8, 1/16, and 1/32 .. hook size #575 size 1, 2, 4 & 6 .. Crane Swivel size 12.

    Just a little trivia.

I'm not sure but that mold also allows you to make a twin spin lure using a long hook with a large eye JSC will probably know the hook size I don't remember . But I have a similar mold. Use .o35 wire at least for the single wire style.
