I use 6/0 Danville when using chenille or palmer bodies, I just have an easier time hiding it and I'm slow anyway. The 6/0 uni I have is prone to break often. I recently bought some 140 and like it fine. If it was my kit I would go Danville in a few versatile colors of your choosing, and probably 140 denier for wider application. Thought of doing this myself, even have a basic vise that the wife got me in a kit, but I just don't travel much.

I fell like I just crawled out of the stone age because of the threads available today. Due to vision problems I use mono cord and sometime size A rod wrap thread and if tying for my friend I use Kevlar. I tie bigger jigs and do not tie smaller the 1/32 and tie a different style. I work mostly with hair and very little feathers.

Since you're using alot of hairs for tying bigger jigs, you could also try the GSP (Gel Spun) thread. Alot of my buddies who spin and stack hair for bugs use it as it's stronger but not as heavy as the Kevlar.
