    Default My use for mealworms.

Sorry guys I just had to do it. When I first moved to Tulsa I was retired and wanted something to do. Took a lot of time to get him to come to me. Super hard to hold camera and take the picture. The female never did come in and the offspring would get close but never trusted me. When I was in the back yard he would fly to my hand to get the worms. I miss the little guy and may try it again here in Langley.

I think this really something when you could have the birds land on your hand infeed we feed the birds all winter here I go through about 600 pounds of bird food every winter. We have high as 200 Quail at a time in hundreds is barrels plus every other type of wild bird that stays overwinter.

I go through bird food but nothing comes close to that amount. My hat is off to you.

In our government-controlled schools we are taught that Lincoln was our greatest president because his war ended slavery and saved the Union. As usual, the other side of the story – the side that reflects poorly on the government – somehow gets lost. – Richard J. Maybury, The Abe Lincoln Hoax

Nice pic, shows what a bit of patience can do. We had a hummingbird feeder on the back porch and watched through the glass, and the wife commented that she would love some pics of them. I set up the tripod and waited with my finger on the button. They don't care about humans and will buzz you like the air force if you hold still. 1 pic has 4 of them on the feeder at about 3 feet from the lens. They're lots of fun.

I had pictures of humming birds sitting on my finger while at the feeder. One of the houses I lived in had a elevated deck with a large sliding door and I had hummers so they would fly through the door and come into the living room to the feeder by my chair. Please do not do this unless you can control the environment. I never did this when anyone was in the house, If one thing spooked them they could never find their was out. The mocking bird would fly up to window and jump onto the kitchen table and eat the meal worms out of the container they were kept in. I could not walk up to him in the house but could work around the sink area and talk to him with no problems. Again no one else would be in the house or upstairs when I would let him in.
