    Default hot pot 2 Q?

my hot pot 2 the extension cord is starting to wear out cause when I plug it up I can touch the pot before it gets hot and the dang thing will give me a slight buzz so I was thinking about replacing the extension cord on it so my question is should I go with a heavier duty and longer cord or should I stick with the same kinda extension cord that is on it the cord on it right now is a little short thing it's only about 3ft Long I was thinking about installing a heavier duty cord about maybe 8-15 ft long but I know with a longer cord the cord could over heat
what would yall recommend? need advice please thanks

I would definitely go with a heavier gauge wired cord and maybe go no more than 6 feet long.

When mine died back in the 1980's I pulled it out, cut the cord off and kept it and use it on a portable heater, I put tire weights over it and using a torch heat them then pull the steel clip out the rest of the tire weight goes in my LEE pot and that way I don't have to worry about the clips the hot pot holds the clip and I take those out and pour the rest of the lead in my big pot.
