    Default Water "Aphids"?

I was inspired by Hays47 post recently with the Water Fleas and tried these with the materials I already had available usuing 4mm black plastic beads and #8 painted hooks. They don't look like the water fleas so I call them Water "Aphids"!! lol! Picture was taken on top of some snow.I guess I will try them ice fishing soon.

Len : Instead of a split shot try a # 2 swedish pimple. Take the treble hook off and tie a 2 1/2 or 3 inch dropper line in place of treble. Tie one of your aphid to the other end. Let pimple hit bottom to stir things up abit. Raise it above little cloud of debris and hold still for couple seconds.

The flash of the spoon will attract and if you tip with maggot or waxie it will seal the deal. This method is extremely effective on perch. Of course bluegill and crappies are all over it too.

One suggestion tie some with a clear bead and some that are light chartreuse. Those will be your clear water go tos.

Thanks hays47 I never even thought about using the swedish pimple to get the bead down and I will also try the clear and chart. beads.

Excellent job Len. Some 'Gills will soon be frying in the pan. I do mine with flo red or flo orange beads. They work well under a soldered pinmin. Tip both with wax worms.
