    Default Mink anyone?

I walked thru the Goodwill with the Wife the other day, and a jacket caught my eye.It looked like it was made of strips of mink about twice the width of zonkers. The jacket hadn't been taken care of and the strips were separating next to the stitching. $45 was the price so it's still there but it peaked my interest. The fur looked real good to me, but I've never tied a zonker so don't know what I'm looking at. Anyone ever fool with it? The stuff looked like it might be good for dubbing if nothing else. Check it out, a Fifth Avenue Jig?

If the hair is long enough, it should make some good jigs. You could catch you some designer crappie. LOL

Yes I have a bunch of mink for dubbing and I also have some micro mink zonkers which I really like. The micro zonker are really thin so you can use them easy for jigs as a zonker tail or even wrap the entire hook from the bend to the head. to make a very nice jig.

I found some at a thrift store a while back too. Old collar they wanted $11.00 for it because it was very old looking. They have a color ticket system. Blue ticket is 70% off. Orange ticket was 50% off and a yellow ticket was 30% off. This had a blue ticket and I got it for about 3 bucks. Never did tie any jigs with it though. It is somewhere in the box with a bunch of other fur pieces. You can also get good stuff from old hats at the thrift stores and flea markets.
