Default While waiting for the ICE to come on

While waiting for it to either warm up a tad or get a whole lot colder. I decided to get a new jig head ( for me ) project started. Hopefully someone will agree to make a custom mold for me with recessed eyes. Love the natural shad profile on these and hopefully the fish do also.Bunny hair for back and belly. Thats the ones above the ruler

The ones below are duck fedders for the creature on left. Hackle feathers and Congo hair for the animal on your right. Both have rhinestone eyes clear then painted over with a transparent chartreuse latex paint.

Those all look beyond great. Did you do the painting on the ones above the ruler? If so, they're amazing. I'm new to this and've never seen those types of heads, pour 'em yourself? I like 'em...lots. Never tied rabbit b/f......think I'll give that shot once I shoot one. Thx for sharing.
    OHHH, what is congo hair?

Micro- I paint all my own jigs using powder paint primarily with air gun. Some times use color pens to enhance pattern or detail
The heads I used t get from I guy in Canada but I believe he has passed on from what I have been able to hear
I hope to pour my own if CAT agrees to make a custom mold for me. I want the mold to have recessed eyes so I can use 3D eyes
Learn to use Rabbit it is a very versatile material. I use zonker strips both straight and cross cut. No need to shoot one unless you want to.
Congo hair is a synthetic material that is sold by Fly tyers Dungeon often referred to as FTD here.

Low budget, semi hunter with a belief in utilizing everything possible from an animal if you kill it. The air gun work is awesome. If you're looking for some minnow heads with recessed eyes, I recommend hunter7711. I also believe PBUG has a similiar mold.

Hays I really like those heads! Any idea on their weight? I'm guessing 3/16 ish. Get him to put 5 mm eyes in those suckers. If you get the mold let me know I'll buy some. Nice jigs by the way.

Ditto on Hunter 7711's jigheads. They're very nice. Real nice detail Hays, good work. I have to try some bunny but have allergies to it so I'll just buy a small bag and see. Used a lot in leech pattern flies too.
