    Default Hard as Nails question

I have some Sally Hansens Hard-as-Nails that has thickened. What would thin it back out? I hate to waste 1/2 a bottle.

NP64 I use acetone pure acetone. You can pick a small bottle of it at Wally world in the same area as the nail polish for about a buck. It will last along time just keep the lid on very tight. It takes very little to thin Hard as nails out just a few drops. Don't use nail polish remover as It has other chemicals in it that will cloud the Hard as Nails. Take it from some one that has been down the wrong path and messed up a 1/2 bottle or two.

Is the hard as nails what you all use to cover eyes after painting them on? I have not painted eyes much on my jigs but want to try a few and see if it makes any differance. I use powder paint and then cure it in a toaster oven. Then use vinyl paint for the eyes but it will scratch off pretty easy. Can I just brush on the Hard as nails over these eyes to keep them from scratching off?

Didn't want to start a new thread, but I'm trying to strip a few powder painted heads that turned out bad, to repaint. Tried paint thinner and thats def. not working. any other options besides just chipping away at 'em. Thanks for any suggestions.

Glad to hear about the acetone. I've got a couple of bottles of Hard As Nails that has thickened.

Adam - If you use Hard As Nails to cover your eyes on a chartreuse head, it will turn yellow. Clear vinyl works better on chartreuse.

This is a great thread with great advice for everyone including me. I have just been throwing them away since I could not use them. Heading to Wally's tomorrow. Thanks.
