    Default Kind of Embarrased!!

Kinda hate to talk about my last fishing trip. Been tying jigs and RR type jigs for years, own all kinds of heads, threads, chenilles, and feathers. But I got curious, thinking about the little Pro Lite maribou jigs I used to use from Bass Pro. They were small, 1/32nd was what I used. So.....I tied some 1/8th, just head and maribou. No body or even contrasting thread. The shad are really bunched up, so I just tied 3 colors. White, gray, and 1/2 gray feathers and 1/2 white. Very plain, simple and extemely easy to tie.

Wow! Had a 25 fish limit in less than an hour. One of the fancier jigs would have probably done the same thing, but it was good to get them on just as plain and basic a jig as you can tie. Sometimes, simple is best.

I agree lots of times I do my best with a ball head chenille jig especially in several colors I like.

Congrats on your catch and sure you had a lot of fun too!

Congrats on the catch. I saw a guy fishing today with a white jig and doing pretty well. Of course that was the only color I didn't have. I'm gonna be ready next time, I bet. LOL
