    Default wisconsin jig

After a great showing from the badgers and packers this weekend i figured i would do a wisconsin jig. the head is ruby slipper/white pearl the body is red chennile (pic makes it orange, i think because of my phone camera) and the tail is badger fur with red flash

That jig will do well down here by me. Used red and white combo Saturday with real good results. Chenille looks good, good balance. Movin on up!

Not bad at all, but I did notice the hook seems to not be in the hair. Can't figure how to say this right, but the hair should be kind of around the hook shank some so that some hair is also below the hook shank.

Is that eye closed on that jigs? LOL!

Yea,just wrap your thread a little further back to get your badger hair to surround your hook so there is some hair on the top side and the bottom side of the shank.Looks very good and will catch fish for sure.

Was looking through the pages at jigs to figure out some of my wrongs...
I REALLY like the colors you used. The head paint is awesome. How was that accomplished? And the led itself, custom pour with the eye cavity? If you bought it, what is it called.
As far the hair not surrounding the hook completely, I'm having that problem and it looks like my materials are stacked. I read to tie further back, but I thought you stop your tying point at hook point? I usually am just using marabou like I saw in a video using the whole feather and cutting from the head. Wrong?
    Any help would be appreciated

Just kinda roll what you tie for the tail down around the hook shank. Not needed for marabou.

I try to...but I've gotten bored with the norm and start trying to do three diff marabou colors + some fancy dyed hackle for appearance along with flash. For me, not the fish.
My problem is I need to just go fishing and stop worrying about jig appearance.
