I used an 11''x14'' stretched canvas I bought from Hobby Lobby. It worked good with it being on a frame and it gave a place for the hook points to go.
I laid out where the jigs needed to be and then used a bodkin to mark where the jig hooks needed to go. Next I came down under the jigs and ran a mark across the canvas. I then wrote the name and the state where the tyer's are from.
To install the jigs I had to bend out the hook a little for them to go into the canvas.

Very nice Stump
"Garden Hackler"lol
Nice way to keep them.
On the same kind of thing, if you guys ever start to tie flies or use hair from the pelt type jigs and want to remember just how they look I saw a guy do this for dubbed flies and see no reason you would do the same thing. You know how it's hard to remember just how a fly/jig looks with some things. Well what this guy does is for every piece of hide he's tying off of he will leave a couple flies in that hide so he can look at it any time to see if it's what he's looking for colors wise.
Just a thought that came to me when I saw this.
thats kool i like it are u going to try to get a jig from each of the 50 states lol that would be neatjust a thought
thanks Crappie Josh aka C.J.
always ready to go fishing
Josh, if we enter enough of the swaps we may end up with a jig from each state.![]()
Skip, that's a good tip on the flies and keeping em with the hide.
