I don't striper fish much, but when growing up on Long Island the most popular where I was had a butterbean head, white bucktail and head and red thread. The forward bottom was dipped in red to give it a mouth looking area. Just as Pbug said. Back when you could sell striper a neighbor whose daughter I went to school with, made a living doing just that. Made all his own stuff, mended nets, and held this young mans interest for long periods of time. Back then I couldn't stand still long enough to pass gas, but I did at Steve's garage. God, that was a long time back. Maybe all white with a red hackle or 2 on the bottom might look good too. As always, good work AZ.

Hey AZ, have you fished your home made jigs in the ocean before? Reason I ask is that when I fished mine last weekend while surf fishing(sand blasted) my powder paint came off. Only used a heat gun so my ocean jigs will need to be baked for sure. Just a heads up.

They all get fished, mostly out of a boat.I cure all of my jigs.Even the ones from last year look like new paint.
