very many years before i knew what crappie jigs were and much less that i would be tieing crappie jigs my father is the one that brought home the $20.00 fly tieing kit from bass pro or cabalas this had to be at least 10 or more years ago that i got in to fly/jig tying the vise that i was using didnt swivle adjust up and down and was very thin and filmsey i managed to tie a few jigs i didnt know how to finish them so i did the best i couldand the other day i was going threw some stuff and i found them so i took some pictures and here they are

actualy dad brought the fly kit home and thats as far as he made it i read on the instruction book and mess around with it and thats what i came out with

And they caught fish too. My first ones came after watching an associate at BPS knoxville show me some basic technique, so I had a leg up. Nice to have history.

well that sad thing is i never really got the chance to try them cause i miss placed them shortly after and when i found them again im not real sure they would hold up in water with out coming undone![]()

Neat to look back and see all you've learned now. Thanks for sharing the story. I saved my first jigs so I can look at them later. The crappie would probably like them as well as today's jigs, but I think we tie more for our eyes than for the crappie sometimes. LOL
