    Default More Zonkers

I recently learned the difference in cross-cut and center-cut rabbit zonker. On these I used a little bucktail to help keep the zonker from wrapping in the hook while fishing. I just got some barred center cut zonker from CAT so my tails are from it. The bodies on the chartreuse jigs are cross-cut zonker.

Nice, I really like the Chartreuse ones, but that is a color thing.
    Good job.

Glad to see " rabbit fever " spreading. Like your idea about the bucktail to prevent tangling.

Another idea I use is to two -tone tail and glue them together with Mend-It. This is a special formula glue that sets fast and the hide remains just as flexible. The top zonker I pierce with the hook and then tie right behind head. The two bare hides facing one another with hook in between. Just a drop or two of Mend It is all that is needed.

Your jigs look great just as they are.

I'll have to try that little trick with the Mend-It glue. Thanks for the tip. Using the buck-tail is one of AtticFish's tips to keep zonker from fouling. I thought marabou had a lot of action in the water till I tried zonker. I haven't tried them on crappie yet cause they aren't biting many jigs right now. I've been catching them pretty well trolling crankbaits though.

I use Tear Mender to glue the two strips together. I did manage to glue this one upside down, LOL!
