Pretty much the more you spend the better they will be. And american made will hold up better generally speaking. I have a pretty good pair made by Xuron that I think was about $20, should be plenty good for you. If you want something even better than that you will have to get jeweler quality tools which is what Ive started using. More expensive but last forever.

I would guess the best or most expensive are at Worth's and are like $35.00, but I have been hesitant in buying them because I am not sure how they work from looking at the picture.

I use one of the kind at Barlow's that says it recommended for size 2 and up, but I just about always use size 2. They are kind of small and not the ones with the Black handles or the flat cheap one, but the others.

Small, thin knife blade to attach split ring to blade and fingers to attach it to spinnerbait. I use 1/0 split rings and most tools are designed for larger split rings. Big challenge is the 0/0 split rings which I use for da bitty baits.

Well here are the ones I have a like best so far (2nd one down)...
    http://www.barlowstackle.com/acb/sho...2224&CATID=115

I also have these, but don't like them as well, they seem to let the split ring turn sideways too easy (3 rd down).

Have also had the flat cheap ones last on this page.

Here are the ones at Worth, but at $35 I have not tried them, but as I said it's because I don't know how they work. They call them Industrial Split Ring Pliers....

I use the butt rings, but after last weekend and I lost a size 8 fluted brass blade on a bait that was catching fish, that is why I am going back to split rings, lol.Them Worth pliars, can't see how they would work either, but they are probably good.Looks can be decieving.
