    Default organizing tyin materails?

Ok I use a small food prep or a butcher block table as my tyin station and not a lot of storage. I use stowaways now to store my thread and the bigger deep pocket stowaways for chenille but need idea for marabou and bucktail?

    Thanks,

I have everything in a plastic tool box. small items on the tray such as bobbins, thread, scissors etc... In the bottom I keep everything else divided up in large ziplocs. A ziploc for chen, one for bou, and one for flash. Seemed to make it much easier for me to find everything I wanted.

I use the plastic cabinets they sell at all the stores. I use some tall narrow ones for hackle and actually use the top drawer on a wider ones for marabou. I keep all my chenille and feathers in these cabinets.

Here is a picture to help. You see the white narrow ones stacked two high? That is where hackle is from top to bottom except for the top drawer is flash and the very bottom one is where I keep my rabbit and it's full. The wider ones have my chenille in the first one with marabou on the top drawer and the ones next to that are full of all kinds of stuff; like deer hair, any capes, kip tails, and a few colors of hackle and marabou in pounds. I have several you can't see in this picture that are under the two tables I have that I tie on. I also have a couple of 5 gallon plastic buckets under my desk full of duck feathers. Anyway hope this helps...

Little plastic bins work well for me. I keep out what I use the most and place other materials in drawers.

Skip, you need to get some more supplies! LOL I've got two sets of small plastic drawers stacked one on the other for tools, eyes, f. polish, and other small stuff. All my feathers and stuff are in a big box.

LOL, Yeah I been trying to find time to make a list of what I want to sell that I have more than I can use, especially chenille. I just have too much, but even if I thin it down it will be just extra stuff as I will keep some of all. It's like when I buy chenille I have to buy 2 skeins and one will last long enough so when I have an extra, I am going to sell it. Will not cut down how many cabinets, just more room in them to get full all over again, LOL!

I have several plastic shoe boxes that I found at Wal-Mart. One for hackles, one for flash, one for chenille....
