Default Made this fast little video a couple months back

Thought some of you would enjoy seeing it. I don't even use this Fine Point Conversion jaw much now and just use the straight one that comes on the Nor-Vise. My wife at the end didn't know how to stop recording, LOL! It will show some why I like my Nor so much. I think that if I rush that I can tie that jig in less than a minute if all is prepared, but this time it took about 1 Min. 12 seconds or so.

This is not meant to show what kind of video I have in mind making at all though.

    Skip,

You made quick work of tying that jig and it looks great. What vise are you using to tie the jig in the video?

    Thanks

Nor-Vise and even though I sell a great vise in Peak this is different than any other vise I have ever used. I love this thing and my Peak and Renzetti just sit here, but the Nor is a different price level for sure and each conversion kit like the Fine Point Jaw or any of the other Jaw conversions all cost more. The vise as it comes is about $300 and each conversion (I have 3) cost about $100 each. The auto bobbin (needed for dubbed bodies or at lest makes some thing a lot easier) is like $35 and you can get any number of spools for it with different color threads. I think that I have about 15 or so spools with different colors on each. I also have 4 of the auto bobbins with each spooled with my most used colors.

So not an entry level vise, but what a great piece of equipment and if you do dubbed bodies this vise is the best. No more dubbin loops and all that stuff, just hang the auto bobbin over the post and spin the vise and hold a piece of dubbin and it will wrap on to the thread.

Nice video and also like the vise. I can't do without my bobbin cradle, eliminates all the bumping and wrapping over the top. Does the norvise come with a cradle?

It has no cradle like other vises, but has in place of that a post which you can hang your thread and also if you want to make a dubbed body with it and you get to the part of putting on the dubbin you just hang your bobbin over the cradle and spin the vise and hold the dubbin against it and it will attach. I do this using my auto bobbin so it will suck the thread back in when I take it closer to the jig and as the vise wraps the body. This is my favorite thing to do with this vise.

The post is not in your way when not using it either. The post sits about 14" to the side of the vise.

Also using the standard jaw which I have changed back to is in a straight line so it spins faster and better.

Anyone interested in the Nor Vise should look at the videos on the site Norm Norlander is a really nice guy too.

I picked up at least 2 things just watching it for the first time. Thanks, Skip. Good video, the full version will be worth it in both dollars and info for those of us still learning.
