Default chrome finish on jig heads

How do people get that shiney chrome finish on some of their jigheads?

Is it a certain powderpaint color?

I have another question i might as well throw on here too.

Are hook sizes generally consistant from one manufacturer to another?

I've got powder paint that is really close to chrome. But if you want the real thing then you must go with plating. A bit more expensive to buy the jigs plated.
