Hey what kind of box are you talking about? I need some relief as I have so many skeins of chenille that my drawers I use for it are all totally full and I had to start putting some in big bags over in my wall cabinet. Two at a time and lots of colors makes for a big problem for me and I just keep thinking of new combos that I want. I really got to stop adding more and more colors and materials.

You are right Smoothlures. With the line box you could use old line spools to roll the chenille on and then feed it out the front the same as you would the fishing line.

I have some bigger rolls and on them I pulled off 5 yards and the box sections holds it with no problem.

You got a good eye for a full box :D

The grommets are used so you have a smooth surface for the chenille not to get pulled. If you don't want to use the grommets you can drill a smaller hole but make sure you spend some time sanding away any rough edges. A 3/16 or 1/4'' hole will work.

Hey Ronnie, I was just thinking, as odd as that is, how would it work if you drilled the holes around the outside edge of the box instead of the lid? Then if you opened the lid to re-supply a compartment, your ends wouldn't pull out of the grommets. Maybe we can share the patent. HaHa!

Nice box! I currently use a similar box, minus the holes and grommets. I just take out the handfull of chenille that I am going to use, then return it to the box when done. That way I dont have to cut off a piece to use, I just tie it, wrap it, and then cut off at the finish, leaving no wasted chenille, plus it gives you a longer piece to hold onto when wrapping. And Scott, I dont think the ends would pull out when re-stocking, cause I believe the holes are in the bottom of the box, not in the lid.

I made one of the Chenille Dispensers today and probably will need at least 2 more!!!! Thanks Stump Hunter for the idea!!

I told you it was odd when I went to thinking:confused:LOL I can see where the bottom of the box would work great. Better to remain quiet and let people think your dumb than to open your mouth and remove all doubt! :eek:
