    Default Anybody Ever ...........

I watch the "Bass Masters Series" religeously.I was watching a couple of weeks ago at the one at Pik-Wik Lake in Alabama. The winner one with a chartruse crankbait with a black top. That thing looked so cool that I had to have something that looked like it.He handpainted it himself,so did I.These are 1/10 oz. Ultra Minnows, chartruse with a black spatter top.I used black kip on top of the tail and chartruse bottom with some Rainbow Flash.I like the tread bodies myself but tried one with a chenille also.Very Kool colors,To me anyway, lol.Do you guys ever watch fishing shows to get color combos from the Pros?No crappie tourneys ever to watch here in Arizona,so I figured what the bass are liking, the crappies probably do too.

Do they actually catch fish in them tournaments ? I always thought the guys with the most sponsors on their jump suits and whose boat threw the biggest rooster tail going down the lake was declared the winner.

I watched them fish in my local lakes but have never seen them catch one fish ( this part is true ). As fast as they throw out and crank back in catching something would just slow them down. Must be who ever tries the most spots and goes the fastest between them must have something to do with winning.

Now I have seen fish at the weigh ins at the end of these tournaments. I always figured they begged real fishermen for donations of bass out on the lake. Whoever was best at begging also had something to do with winning.

Now you tell me they actually catch fish. Who woulda thunk it?

Color combos haven't changed much in the 50 yrs I've been fishin. Basic colors are just changed with different patterns, like the baitfish picture imposed into the color. Or the crawfish pattern on a Rattle trap for example. Never saw a crawfish that could cover water like the trap does, but they sure sell. Probably have one in my box. Your jigs look good, and if it's bass you're after you might consider adding a curltail. Beetle spins work good for all species for me, sometimes with a hand tied jig instead of a plastic grub.

Good looking jigs azslabber, I know that color combination works in MS. I watched that same TV show. He was fishing around a bunch of cypress trees. I was thinking to myself I bet there's some nice crappie in there! I guess he was fishing for money instead of supper!
