Default Added more info on curing paint

You can just get it here or see what I updated the post on that.

Here is what I found out.

Alright I found the answer to my problem with the 10 minute thing. I use a toaster oven like many of you and CSI uses a dedicated oven just for curing paint and they tell me the 10 minute thing didn't work for me because I am using a toaster oven and they loose a lot of heat and not so accurate so I am back to 15 minutes at 392 or as close as I can get. I know lots of you use a toaster oven too so wanted to get this info out. Maybe I will go back to my real oven so it would work better, we will see.

Skip I use a regular oven and I cure all colors between 390 to 395 for 10 minutes and they all do great at these tempts.I should also add this oven once was in our house until I baked to many jigs that dripped in my learning how to paint with powders ha ha,had to get a new one so it went to the shop.

A real oven should hold heat and have a more accurate temp and that should make the 10 minute thing work. I am going to try it in our regular oven, but always have a drip try below that when I do and it's covered with tin foil, LOL. Been a log time since I had one drip, but don't want here on my tail for something like that either, LOL!

Thanks for the info that it's for a regular oven. When I do my PP I use a regular oven and even though it's supposed to be accurate I still get a hanging thermometer just to be safe. For a couple of bucks it just for me anyway adds a little extra insurance that it's correct.

When I first started with the powder painting I was using the 350 degrees at 15 minutes with regular oven. In affect am I actually heating them 5 minutes too long??? or is the 15 still good.

    Thanks again for the info

Most of the colors they have changed to near 400 (can't remember if it's 392 or 395 and doubt it would make any real difference anyway) for 10 minutes. At least it cuts time off the curing.
