Default those little roadrunner looking thingys

It looks like they would be the ticket for using on summer crappie on a spider rig. I ain't got a clue about making them but am interested. I saw some on one of skips posts and want to make some but where do you get the materials? What size hardware for 16th and 32nd size?
    It ain't nuttin but luck.

#12 crane swivels for those sizes. Split rings size 00 or 0. Indiana blades, willow blades, any size you prefer. These can be purchased from Barlows, Netcraft, Tacklecraft, most online tackle shops. They take awhile longer to put together and tie but I make many of them and do quite well with them around here. Powder painting those rascals is a bit tricky with the swivels. Heat gun works best .

I second the no blade until you tie them up!!!!!!!!!!!!! I myself have both styles of molds with collar and no collar. You can use sickle hooks in them just make sure the mold closes tight.

And yes powder painting them can be a pain, I usually take all that I'm going to powder paint and I sit in front of the tv and put tin foil around all the swivels, after dipping pull the tin foil off then cure.

I was wondering why you couldn't dip them before adding the swivel but evidently from what you are saying, the swivel is poured in the head.

Blakemore uses size #2 split rings and I do as well. Blades are up to you, but if you get the size Blakemore uses it would be 0 on 1/32 and #1 on 1/16 and larger on 1/8 even though the main difference in the 1/16 & 1/8 is the hook size. The 1/8 really doesn't weigh much more than a 1/16, but the 1/16 does weigh more than 1/16 too.

One thing to keep in mind on blades is not all Mfg. are the same size by the number and I don't remember which one is different, but I use Worth.
