Default Windy as Heck, but Got a few today.

First thing had to wait for the pain meds to work and didn't get up early. So got out at 8:30 and realized it not only was bad timing, but I still had to have breakfast so only got one hour in until 9:30. Then had to tie some jigs, but wanted to try this new app I got on my phone and it said fishing best 1:30 to 3:30 +-. Well got 4 this morning and then kept 8 this afternoon and threw back 3 crappie, under 10", one small bass and one channel cat, LOL! Had fun and they quit about 3:30 or slowed way down so came in. May try again tomorrow at the time indicated on my new little App. Now all filleted and done. all on two different color 1/32 Oz. Roadrunners I tied...Pix below...

Yes Skip it was very windy here a few miles north of you on Caddo. I went this morning and did about as well as you did in the morning. Had the use of a tiller so tilled the garden in the afternoon and now have to plant so I won't get any fishing in for a couple of days. Nice catch hope they taste as good as mine did tonight. There was even a few hushpuppies and fries left for the dogs.LOL Love this time of year crappies in the timber.

Redman I too love this time of year and every year have caught enough to last. Last year didn't fish enough, but still started the year with fish from 2007 and either gave away or ate them. Still lots form 2008 in the freezer, but since last year was a hardly fishing year I will get my freezer stocked again. Still eat some of what I catch while not froze yet, but load up for the entire year so if I don't get to fish a lot in the summer (or I choose not to because it's so darn hot) then I still have plenty to eat all year and have plenty to start off next year too. Love it for sure.

I almost always just go for a couple of hours and manage to get enough quick trips out to get it done.

Glad you got some too yesterday and I know you probably had as much fun as I did, but it's even more fun with a breeze and not blowing like it was yesterday. Makes it so you can't fish where you may want to.

Sometimes when trolling like that and the winds are up bad like it was and the 1/32 oz. jig and your pole points a bit too far forward then you run out of room to get a good hook set. I also snagged a few that pulled off and I think probably the same problem and just didn't get a good hook in.

If the wind is less than it was then missing is not going to happen much, LOL! Darn wind also makes a little problem with a bow in you line so no room left to get them good.
