Bleaching Jigs

Anyone ever bleached white jigs? Just curious to know if it will turn jigs back to white after being place in muddy water without eating up any of the materials.

Doubt it wouldn't eat up the jig...bleach is some bad stuff...plus the smell...

I would NEVER BLEACH a jig. If you would like to lighten up white materials try Rit Whitener & Brightener.I'm not sure how that would work with a tied jig. If the jig is tied I'd leave it alone.

I would probably just tie up another Kip or Marabou instead of trying to bleach one. You may never get the bleach smell out of it. Besides it is way too much fun to just tie a few more.

Want to clean up your chenille, hair, and marabou jigs? I think that a little experimentation with the following might be the way to go.

Enzymes and Detergent

Algae, mud, chenille, hair, and marabou just shouldn't mix. So, I understand why you might like to clean your jigs up.

Could be worth a soaking try along with a little agitation.

Yeah if you use bleach I'm pretty sure you're gonna kill the jigs. Why worry about it, use a razor blade cut the stuff off and retie the jig. Recycle/Re-Use don't get any better.
